After a one-year hiatus due to the corona pandemic, NASST was back bigger than ever with 28 participating stallions, including our first pony stallion! Due to the continued growth in participation numbers, the results were kept separate between the testing sites. The East Coast Dressage Champion was Maximus (Ibiza-Apache) owned by Alice Tarjan, Jumper Champion was the US-bred Calisto (reg. Coconut Macaroon) (Cancara-James) owned by Susan Martin & Samantha Bielawski, and Pony Champion was Standing Ovation New Horizons (Stellar TVR-Afghan II) who was also US-bred. The West Coast Dressage Champion was Influencer EDI (Ibiza-Hohenstein) owned by Jessica Greenstein and Jumper Champion was Lakota WT (Liocalyn-Coriander) owned by Drew Weber.
2019
For the first time we saw more jumper stallions entered than dressage stallions. Fifteen stallions in total competed at the two NASST sites (7 dressage, 8 jumper). An incredible 86% of the participating stallions were bred in North America. Dressage Champion was DG Bar Ranch’s Koning DG (Bordeaux-Jazz) and Jumper Champion was Calisto (reg. Coconut Macaroon) (Cancara-James) owned by Susan Martin & Samantha Bielawski. Both champions were US-bred.
2018
NASST gains strong momentum with 13 stallions participating in 2018 (8 dressage, 5 jumper). Eight of those stallions were bred in North America and six were still owned by their breeders. Dressage Champion was Sole Mio (Stanford-Donerschwee) owned by Leslie Waterman and Jumper Champion was Laurie Jamieson’s Jethro Tull (I’m Special de Muze-Voltaire).
